AEG Presents: Rocky Mountains, which performs concerts at the Ball Arena, Ogden Theater and more, will also require proof of vaccination

On August 12, promoters of AEG international events announced that they would require proof of vaccination at all of its sites in the United States. The group’s Colorado branch, AEG Presents: Rocky Mountains, produces concerts and other events at venues such as Fiddler’s Green, 1STBANK Center, Bluebird Theater, Ogden Theater, and Gothic Theater. And although AEG does produce shows at the Red Rocks and the Ball Arena, the new policy does not apply to either site, as Red Red Rocks is owned and operated by Denver Arts & Venues and Ball Arena is owned by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.

“We came to the conclusion that as a market leader, it was incumbent on us to take a real stance on vaccine status,” said Jay Marciano, COO of AEG and Chief Executive Officer of AEG Presents. “Just a few weeks ago, we were optimistic about the direction of our company and our country. The Delta variant, combined with vaccine reluctance, pushes us in the wrong direction again. We realize some people might see this as a dramatic step, but it’s the right one. We’re also aware that there might be some initial setback, but I’m confident and hopeful that in the end we’ll be on the right side of the story and do what’s best for the artists, fans and organizers of live events. . “

By October 1, 2021, all spectators and event staff participating in AEG events should be fully immunized. According to the company’s website, they chose this date to allow ticket holders to take their photos. Until October 1, AEG will ask customers to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test taken up to 72 hours before the event.

“Our hope is that our proactive stance encourages people to do the right thing and get vaccinated,” Marciano said. “I think everyone can agree that we don’t want concerts to go away, and that’s the best way to prevent that from happening.”

The company joins a growing list of companies demanding that Colorado customers be fully immunized, including Underground Music Showcase and Bonanno Concepts bars and restaurants like Milk Market and Vesper Lounge.

Correction: This story has been updated to clarify that AEG’s policy does not apply to Red Rocks and Ball Arena shows at this time.
