Volcanic mountains

Arceus Commercial shows a volcanic area

Return to the volcanic mountains of Sinnoh’s past in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Hisui Volcanic Region

We’re less than a month away from the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and that means it’s time for a new trailer. This one is from Japan and shows us a part of the Hisui region that we have never seen before.

Serebii released this trailer online which begins with a brief overview of several of the new Pokémon coming to Legends: Arceus, including Wyrdeer, Basculegion, and Hisuian Growlithe. Then we are given a view of a giant volcano courtesy of a Braviary Hisuaian carrying passengers.

There’s no indication of where this volcano is, but as long as Sinnoh’s geography hasn’t changed significantly from when it was known as Hisui, it’s probably Stark Mountain. Located in the Combat Zone just off Route 227 (in the Sinnoh region, anyway), Stark Mountain is where you encounter and fight Heatran in the Gen IV games as well as Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

GAME VIDEO OF THE DAY

Or it’s possible we’re looking at Mount Coronet in a more volcanically active bygone era. We’ll have to wait for more information to know for sure.

In case you missed it, Pokemon Legends: Arceus had another trailer from early December that featured the two feuding clans of the Hisui region. The Diamond and Pearl clans aren’t at war, but they aren’t totally at peace either. Adaman is the elegant leader of the Diamond clan, while Irida is the charming leader of the Pearl clan. The trailer also features the Ginkgo Merchant Guild who will provide Galaxy Trainers with supplies on their journey.

There are new details about some of the upcoming Legendary Pokémon that will be in Legends: Arceus. Darkrai and Shaymin will both be available as post-game research requests in Jubilife Village as long as there is Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl data on your Switch. And you can also get in-game cosmetics that you can claim before the end credits, but after joining the Galaxy Expedition team, which comes about an hour into the game.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is coming to the Nintendo Switch on January 28.
